DIE GEBURTSPER-FORMANCE / SPEKTAKEL UND TRAUMA:
„There’s so much conflicting ideological propaganda around childbirth. Yes, Caesarean deliveries have been increased (..) as doctors sometimes default to surgery before it becomes medically necessary. But in reaction, there’s been a resurgence of the myth of so-called natural childbirth. If youre going to a doctor once a month, then once a week, to have ultrasounds and other tests done, why is there this belief that you suddenly need to avoid all medical interventions as soon as you go into labour? Das performative Rechercheprojekt BEYOND RE:production setzt sich thematisch mit dem Bild von Mütterlichkeit in der Gegenwart auseinander. Es versteht sich als Versuch einer Bestandsaufnahme von gegenwärtigen Umbrüchen, die die Organisation von sozialer Reproduktion betreffen. Dieses Projekt möchte eine Untersuchung unserer Alltagskultur vorschlagen, denn „Alltäglichkeit macht häufig unsichtbar“ (Felicita Reuschling).
Das Rechercheprojekt wird gefördert vom Fonds Darstellende Künste aus Mitteln der Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien im Rahmen einer Prozessförderung des Programms #Take Heart
